Donna Carrick – biography
Donna Carrick’s paintings are inspired by the vibrant tropical island of Kauai and the golden coast of California. She takes delight in vivid oil color and large panels; often multiples. Her subjects include botanical wonders; orchids, banana flowers, breadfruit, matilija poppies and succulents. Donna loves the beach and strives to capture the ever changing colors of the ocean in coastal land and seascapes.
Born in Canada, Donna came to California in her twenties, where she started her education in art at Otis Art Institute in Los Ángeles. Widely travelled, she has found inspiration in studying both the masters and the little known makers of art in all corners of the world.
Donna lives on the central coast of California and on the island of Kauai. Her work can be found at Pu’uwai Gallery in Hanapepe, Kauai.
